Dear Parents,
Hello again! I hope you
all had a nice weekend. Since we are fast approaching the 100th Day of School, I thought I'd write to tell you a few
things. I would like the children to bring in 100 of something to fit in a small bag for us to count, divide into groups,
and form shapes with. It could be paper clips, cheerios, beans, buttons, etc. I will need them by Thursday, February
9, 2006. Our calender in the classroom turns 100 days on Tuesday, but I need to give you time to send something in.
I thought we would celebrate the day on Thursday.
I'm also sending home a list of
our students' names for Valentine's Day Cards. The students are also asked to decorate a shoebox to put their cards
in. You can use anything at home to help you child decorate their box. This is a good project for you to
share with them. If they need red construction paper and do not have any, have them ask me. I would be happy to
share whatever material I may have. I'm looking forward to finally being able to attend one of the parties.
Last, I hope that you are still taking
time each night to review word cards and spelling words. They need that extra one-on-one individual practice.
